Kenneth L. Hunter

Started in Law Enforcement in 1970 with the United States Marine Corps as a Military Policeman.  After 25 years retired 5/95 as a Master Gunnery Sergeant.  Joined New Bern Police Department 5/95 and was assigned to the Traffic Section.  Promoted to Sergeant 2000 and appointed Accreditation Manager.  After department became accredited assigned to Patrol as Team 3 Supervisor. Retired from NBPD 2/06. Employed by Craven Community College as a Criminal Justice Instructor/BLET Instructor, Specialized Firearms Instructor and Qualified Assistant School Director/ School Director for the Detention Officer Certification Course and Telecommunicator's Course.

Associate Degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from Los Angles Community College, Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University Plainview, Texas and a Masters of Public Administration in Criminal Justice from City University, Seattle, WA.

Active member and current Vice President of Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge # 52. Life member and past President of Craven County Law Enforcement Officer's Association.  Member of Craven County Crime Stoppers and a Reserve Deputy with Craven County Sheriff's Office.
